A little about us…………

Chefs On The Run 911 is run by two mothers, Kim Steenkamp and Chantell Myburg, who started the company in March 2011.

It was during my school years at the Waldorf School in Constantia, that I first considered a career in the Food industry.

In fact, I can still remember inviting two of my teachers to my home in order to present them with my first formal meal (and to get good marks of course). This was followed by attending classes at the Pick n Pay School of cookery at night.

After completing my schooling, I studied at the Cape Town Technicon to become a chef.

Marriage and two children interfered with my plans for the future, yet I have still managed to remain involved in the restaurant industry for over 16 years and have loved every minute of it.

I love cooking, I love being with people and most of all I like to try give people what they want and what they need when it comes to food.

Over the years I have attended and planned many events. During this time I have noted that most people prefer party platters rather than have a formal sit down event consisting of a 3 course meal. It is so much more fun and social. The other factor is the costs involved. Platters are much cheaper.

My close friend and colleague, Chantell and I started Chefs On The Run 911 because we understand the demands and time constraints on both families and business people who really don’t have time to plan weddings, parties and/or business events.

We will do the work so that you can relax. All you have to do is choose a menu that suits your budget.

We will cater for all your food needs. I know that in today’s world people are worried about healthy choices as well as allergies. We take this very seriously as one of my own children is unable to eat any form of gluten,  soya or casein.

 

Chantell Myburg

My interest in catering started at the age of 24. As with many young people, “waitering” was how it began.

I then decided to study Hotel Management and so the love of the industry and people grew.

I really enjoy experimenting with food, as well as cooking and baking for friends. The love of food between Kim (who is now my partner in crime) and I brought us together in deciding to start our own catering business.

Being busy working mothers, we know that time is not always on your side, from party planning to making the food. So our motto “relax its done” says it all.

We will take the time and food preparation away from your busy schedule so that you can relax and concentrate on your guests.
